Frequently Asked Questions
How is Impact Circle different from other private education companies?
We believe that education goes far beyond just the attainment of good academic grades. We prepare students for the tests of life and not merely for a life of tests. We leverage technology to achieve greater efficacy in students’ understanding and application of knowledge. At the same time, we provide ongoing support and scaffolding for our students in between lessons so that learning takes place on the go efficiently. Our teachers are highly qualified and boast a wealth of experience in the education industry. We have former MOE school leaders, former Heads of Department, MOE HQ Officers and expert teachers with international education experience ready to guide your child through his or her education journey. Our teachers are some of the most committed, engaging and inspiring educators you will find in Singapore. Don’t take our word for it, read what our former students say about us!
Why should you choose Impact Circle?
We see our students as the changemakers of the future. We see to maximise the potential of each student such that they will be equipped with the right attitudes, attributes and abilities to make a difference to the people in their circles of influence. We believe that with these in place, academic and work success will be a natural consequence. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and that there needs to be a strong tripartite relationship between the child, the parent and the educator. If you believe in these core values too, we invite you to partner with us and let’s work together to create an impactful and unforgettable education journey for your child!
What is our academic programme like?
Lesson delivery will be predominantly online. A typical week starts off with a video lesson which encapsulates the learning concepts to be worked on that week. Students will watch the video and start work on some questions before attending the online group consultation segment. During group consultation sessions, the coach clarifies misconceptions and addresses queries that the students might have. Students’ learning is also reinforced through the use of different pedagogies, and their progress is monitored through formative assessment strategies. After the group consultation, the students will have to complete and submit their weekly assignments. These assignments will then be marked and returned to the students with detailed comments and suggestions for improvement. Every term, there will be at least one scheduled face-to-face group consultation session, either in preparation for a new Semester or for the upcoming major examinations.
What equipment do you need for lessons?
For video-conferencing, you will need a computer or laptop and a mobile phone with video camera and Internet access.
A flexible phone clamp stand is needed to position the camera to face the table such that it captures your child’s written work in real time. (An complementary stand will be given to you upon signing up for any subject package)
Access to a printer is also preferred, should you wish to print out the weekly assignments.
How many students will there be in each consultation group?
We expect the size of each consultation group to be between 3 and 6 students.
Can a student request to be placed under a specific tutor?
Yes. However, all requests are subject to the availability of a slot in that specific class. The final decision with respect to student-teacher deployment rests with Impact Circle. Please note that from time to time, there might be substitute tutors deployed when the original tutor is unable to make the scheduled group consultation due to unforeseen circumstances or personal reasons. We strive to keep these changes to a minimum.
Can students get help with specific topics or with their school work and assignments?
Our students have an open channel with us. They can raise questions during the online consultation questions or even submit specific questions through the week. Our coaching team will address these queries within 24 hours as far as possible.
What happens when we are unable to make the group consultation that week?
Please inform the tutor as soon as possible, and the tutor will make alternative arrangements with your child on a case-by-case basis, depending on the scheme of work for that week.
